Ridgewood, New Jersey
Ridgewood Public Library's Teen Zone needed a major refresh. Garrigan Design Group worked alongside the Whalen Berez Group to completely re-design the teen zone to include new flooring, paint, lighting, furniture, charging stations, custom shelving, and a glass demountable wall.
Giana's design concept stemmed from mid-century patterns and designs. Combined with a neutral subtle wood tone, modern LED lighting, and a geometric carpet tile, the space feels contemporary and bright.
Special features include a plethora of charging areas for Ridgewood's teenage patrons. The new teen zone has a 12-outlet mobile charging station, pop-up power receptacles adorn the lounge tables, and new wall outlets were installed by the library's electrician. All fabrics are wipeable, bleach cleanable, and high performance to withstand the heavy use environment.
The project was so successful that Ridgewood Public Library decided to move forward in designing the renovation of their art studio, main circulation and media room, mezzanine level, and lobby with Giana.
