The Garrigan Design Group is a full service interior design firm with specialties in residential, public, & education interior design based in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
Our principal, Giana Castelli Garrigan, got her start in 2018 after graduating at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science from Philadelphia University. She soon got straight to work on projects in the New York / New Jersey tri-state area.
Garrigan Design Group's personal aesthetic is classic and timeless with a bit of bohemian flair. Giana's guide while designing spaces is to specify finishes and materials that will stand the test of time (and design trends) which allows her interiors from years past feel up-to-date. With the belief that everything she does has a purpose, Giana approaches interior design with the intention that should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but should be functional and effective for her clients as well. Her designs evoke emotion-whether from the texture of the fabric chosen, a piece of furniture that sparks conversation and interest, or the custom-built furniture or millwork that organize a space.
We believe that very successful project begins with listening to our clients' needs, observing their day-to-day behaviors, and identifying the best routes of both form and function to create a cohesive final design. We have our clients interests in mind while ensuring we deliver a classic and timeless interior design without the risk of being too trendy. With the use of colors, fabric, furniture, accessories and finishes we are able to reflect our clients' wants in any style. Our designs are not limited to one look or design-house, creating beautiful yet functional designs for all of our projects.
Though Giana started working in the residential interior design sector, she soon became a specialist in K-12 and independent school interior design in 2019 while working with the Whalen Berez Group. Over the last few years, she has designed dozens and dozens of libraries, maker spaces, classrooms, science labs, and other specialty education spaces for her clients.
Giana approaches interior design from both a programmatic and functional need as well as an aesthetically pleasing need. She is proficient in drafting, digital rendering and 3D visualization, FF&E specifications, and ultimately presenting complete interior design packages, concepts, and plans. She is nimble in how she approaches every project, realizing that there are many possible avenues to take to achieve the desired results. Giana has an organized but laidback approach to her work and makes clients feel like friends while simultaneously creating trusting relationships and beautiful spaces.
The growing team at GDG is a dynamic group that puts clients first, enjoys collaborating with architects and contractors, and is passionate about design.
